Magog

Armageddon is not the end of human history. There are a thousand more years to go. God’s word stretches our minds to show we are not the centre of everything even though He loves us. The Bible corrects the perspective of those who see Russia as Magog, and therefore a threat to the Western world. This so called threat is a thousand years in the future to distract people from the real threat in the here and now, the anti-Christ system that is the Western world led by America.

Nevertheless, as will be seen in the numbers, the prophecy of Magog in the far future is an important prophecy. It shows God’s plan for Israel still has a long long way to go. Even in the far future, Israel will not be right with God. God promised no one would attack Israel if they obeyed His laws (Exodus 34:24). Magog's attack is only possible because Israel is not obedient. Although Israel remains God’s chosen people, and although the promise stands that those who curse them will be cursed and those who bless them will be blessed, one should not put Israel on a pedestal. God holds them to a stricter standard because they are His people. (Thank God we don't have this responsibility.)

The main prophecy with the most detail is in the book of Ezekiel, chapters 38 and 39. This is tied in with Revelation 20:7-10, and it is John's apocalypse that gives the timing of 1000 years.

The specific verses that come together are Ezekiel 39:6-9 and Revelation 20:7-10. The numeric features that appear when these two passages are put together authenticate the whole.

6 I will send fire on Magog and on those who dwell securely in the coastlands; and they shall know that I am the LORD.

7 And my holy name I will make known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let my holy name be profaned any more; and the nations shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.

8 Behold, it is coming and it will be brought about, says the Lord GOD. That is the day of which I have spoken.

9 then those who dwell in the cities of Israel will go forth and make fires of the weapons and burn them, shields and bucklers, bows and arrows, handpikes and spears, and they will make fires of them for seven years;

(Ezekiel 39:6-9)¹

Verse 7 tells us what is wrong with Israel. As God’s people, they do not act as God’s people. Hence God’s name is disparaged in Israel and in the world. Magog's attack is the ultimate disrespect for God’s name, and God’s destruction of Magog demonstrates to the entire world He is God and the true ruler. This event happens at the end because only at the end can Israel no longer stray. (Happily ever after only comes at the end.)

The numeric total of Ezekiel's four verses is 14044, and it is not divisible by 7 or 13. In fact, because it is not a multiple of 7 or 13, there are no notable numeric features with Ezekiel's verses.

7 And when the thousand years are ended, Satan will be loosed from his prison

8 and will come out to deceive the nations which are at the four corners of the earth, that is, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea.

9 And they marched up over the broad earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city; but fire came down from heaven and consumed them,

10 and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulphur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Revelation makes it clear Satan is the original troublemaker. Men fall for his lies again just as they did throughout history. This proves men have learned little to nothing in a thousand years. They are as susceptible as ever as Eve was to Satan's suggestions. They accepted Satan's lie that women are to blame, when they are no better. (One wonders if women would have learned or done better. Sadly patriarchal men decided on their own to have their own way.)

The numeric total for Revelation 20:7-10 is 29860, and like Ezekiel 39:6-9 is also not divisible by 7 or 13. And again there are hardly any noteworthy numeric features in the passage.

These two passages were written by separate authors, in geographical locations hundreds of kilometres apart, in two different languages (Hebrew and Greek), centuries apart. When their data is put together, an amazing thing occurs.

1There are 160 words, 698 letters, and the numeric total is 43904. (2⁷ x 7³. SF: 35 = 5 x 7.) There are seven factors of 2. This is a one in seven chance. Then there are three factors of 7! This is a one in 343 chance.

The Words

Note: Since there are 160 words when the two passages are combined, many numeric features dealing with the positions of the Nth and Nth last words (or groups of words) will not be presented. Mathematics ensures they will be divisible by seven because the first word position of 1, plus the last word position of 160 gives a total of 161 (7 x 23).

1.0The first and last words (754, 1290): 2044 = 2² x 7 x 73. SF: 84 = 2² x 3 x 7. SF: 14 = 2 x 7.

1.3The difference between the odd and even positioned words providentially yields an extra 7: 4802 = 2 x 7⁴.

For such a promising start, there are many numeric features that do not occur in this combined passage. This is because this prophecy is not about Jesus, and it tells us very little about God. The absence of numeric features that are found in The Hope of Israel, and the prophecies of Jesus mark this passage as a lower level of importance.

1.4.1Twenty-six words are prime numbers. Twenty-six is the value of God’s name in Hebrew. It seems appropriate that unique prime numbers are associated with God’s name.

3.10.1The very first letter with value 1, appeared the most in the passage. It appeared so many times it is the only letter where one can take its 37th occurrence, and its 37th last occurrence as markers to divide the letters into what is between them, and what is not between them.

3.10.1.2Total of letters not between the 37th and 37th last occurences of 1: 38563 = 7² x 787.

3.10.2Opposite the lowest letter with value 1 is the letter with the highest value of 600. In this case, it is its 5th and 5th last occurrences that divide the passage.

3.10.2.1Total of the letters between the 5th and 5th last occurrences of 600: 8883 = 3³ x 7 x 47. SF: 63 = 3² x 7. SF: 13.

3.10.2.2Total of the letters not between the 5th and 5th last occurrences of 600: 35021 = 7 x 5003.

3.10.3It is not a fluke that for the lowest letter 1 it was the 37th and 37th last occurrences (the highest that worked), and for the highest letter 600 it was the lowest that worked, the 5th and 5th last occurrences, because 37 + 5 = 42 (2 x 3 x 7).

Conclusion

The many complementary opposites and numeric features that appear when these two passages are combined show they go together. The invasion of Magog is in the far future, a thousand years after Armageddon. God has said this will happen, and it will happen. The numbers authenticate the text.

Are there no other major historical events between Armageddon and Magog? There is the strong possibility that no events are listed between Armageddon and Magog because it is similar to the 40 years of Israel's wandering in the wilderness (Numbers 14-26). Humanity is still not right with God after Armageddon and must wait a thousand years. Humanity still has much to learn.
