The paired opposites in Revelation 1:8 have a numeric parallel. Most people think of opposite numbers as positive and negative, but this does not match the meaning in Revelation 1:8. Positive and negative numbers cancel out. The characteristics in Revelation 1:8 accumulate and do not cancel each other. The opposite quality of numbers refers to their being odd or even. Odd and even numbers do not cancel each other.

26.1.1Odd and even can also be applied to the first and last. The first even valued letter appears in position 1. The last even valued letter appears in position 119. The sum of these positions is 7140 (17 x 7 x 5 x 3 x 2 x 2), and the sum of the letters is naturally the sum of the passage (6174).

26.1.2We can select from the results of 26.1.1 by taking only those letters with even values and those in even positions. The sum is 2758 (197 x 7 x 2).

26.2.1The first odd valued letter appears in position 5. The last odd valued letter appears in position 85. The sum of letters from position 5 to position 85 (a) position, (b) letter:

Unlike feature 26.1, only the sum of the letters has a feature of 13. The positions do not produce anything. As if to make up for this lack, the sum of the factors of 3770 is 49 (7 x 7).

The numeric features of opposites "first and last" show us God embodies both, spanning everything in between and more. God is truly infinite.

26.2.2Similar to 26.1.2, the list of letters can be restricted by taking only those with odd values that are in odd positions. The sum is 26 (13 x 2).

26.2.3Add one final condition to 26.2.2 by restricting the results only to those in odd word positions. The sum is 13!

26.3In the current numeric Gematria schema, the number of even valued letters outnumber those that are odd. For a better balance, we look to the place values. Separate the letters into two lists (odd and even) according to their place values. Drill down further by taking only the list for even place values and sort it into two more lists, according to their positions within a word (odd and even). Again taking only the even list, sort the letters according to their positions within the verse. The result is below (letters with even place values, residing in the even positions within a word, and also having even positions within the verse).

26.3.1The sum of their positions within each word: 42 (7 x 3 x 2 SF: 12 = 3 x 2 x 2 SF: 7).

The sum of their positions within the verse: 1348 NF. The sum of their letter values: 1200 NF. The sum of the words where they reside: 4639 NF. The sum of the place value totals of each word where they reside: 778 NF.

26.3.2The sum of their place values: 210 (7 x 5 x 3 x 2).

26.3.3The sum of their word positions: 378 (7 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 2).

Note how drilling down on each level still produces something. Out of seven totals, three are divisible by 7.

26.3.4Separate the words into lists of odd and even. No features appear in the list of odd valued words, but there is one in the even words.

The total positions of the even valued words: 399 = 3 x 7 x 19.

26.4The letters can be sorted in many ways (by their): position within a word, position within the verse, letter value, Hebrew alphabet place value, word position, word sum, and place value sum of a word. Each method could be used by itself, or they could be combined. (The letters could first be sorted by their position in the verse (odd and even). Each list could then be further sorted (odd and even) by their place value, and then by their position within a word.) The combinations, or possibilities are almost infinite. Most only produce numeric features matching the odds, but there are two that yield results better than the odds. These two methods actually make the most sense.

Since the entire proclamation is filled with deep spiritual meaning, words must take priority over letters. There are three categories describing the words: word position, numeric sum, and the letter position within a word. Only the first two truly deal with the words themselves. The letter position within a word actually deals with the letters, or a part of a word. The position of the word determines the meaning of the sentence. The numeric sum of the word represents the entire word itself.

As the position of a word in the verse determines the sentence meaning, so does the placement of a letter within a word determine the word. And as noted in the 26.3, the Hebrew place values of the letters give a better balance between odd and even letters. This points out the two main methods of sorting all the letters and finding more features.

Seven attempts at finding features were used for each of the 28 sorting or categorizing methods for a total of 196 (7 x 28) tries. Out of these 196 tries, the odds would expect to find 28 results divisible by seven. There were 46, or 64% more than what the odds out suggest.

If we were looking specifically for results divisible by 11 (a numerical visual representation of the one same God beginning and end), then out of 196 attempts we would expect to find 18 results. There were 29 (61% more).

Only when we look for the number 13 associated with God’s name do we find the odds. Out of 196 attempts we would expect 15 results. We find 14.

The Proclamation seems slanted to provide more features than the odds.

26.6Odd and even are only one type of complementary opposite. Numbers can also be classified as prime numbers or non-prime numbers. This is applied to the letters.

Even though the total of the letters, that are not prime numbers, had no feature, these letters split nicely into two groups, one divisible by 7 and one divisible by 13 when the principle of odd and even is applied.

26.7The number of letters in a word can be odd or even.

27.There is another descriptive title for God in the Old Testament embodying many of the concepts in Revelation 1:8. The title is from Daniel 7:9. (עתיק יומין) Ancient of Days.

The phrase, Ancient of Days consists of 9 Hebrew letters: 70 400 10 100 10 6 40 10 1. Since the letter 10 appears three times, there are only seven different letters.

27.1Search through Exodus’ letters, for Ancient of Days, recording the letter position as each is found, and continue from that point searching for the next letter.

27.4Of the seven different letters in Ancient of Days, letter 400 appears the least number of times in Exodus 34:6-7. It appears only two times. If letters were picked out of the proclamation to produce the phrase Ancient of Days, then the maximum number of phrases would be 2. Thus we apply the phrase Ancient of Days twice to Exodus 34:6-7.

These additional numbers Numerics Gematria show the first and the last is not the same as the beginning and the end. Reading Revelation 1:8 as poetry, symbolism or allegory neglects the deeper literal meaning. We are deprived of a complete picture about God.

Revelation 1:8 contains four major concepts pointing to various aspects of Exodus 34:6b-7. The four concepts:

28.1Alpha and Omega are the names of the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. In the Exodus passage, only one name, the Divine Name, Yhwh is repeated twice. The Divine Name is the first name before all others (Alpha). The Divine Name is the last name after all others (Omega). And in between these two names are the infinite names for everything in the universe. The Divine Name has the numeric value 26, and occupies the second and third word positions.

28.2Says the Lord God parallels the first two words of the Exodus verse, the lord proclaims. The sums of these two words is 317 and 26.

(Word sums: 317, 26 Word positions: 1, 2)

28.3Is, was, and is to come describes God's timelessness. This equates with generations, in Exodus. In Hebrew, this concept is denoted by the last three words of the passage.

(Word sums: 680, 106, 322 Word positions: 31, 32, 33)

28.4The word Almighty connects with the 22nd word in Exodus 34:6b-7. KJV and RSV translate this verb as visiting, but the Hebrew is actually punishing. The ability to punish requires i) the authority, ii) the power, iii) and the right to do so. The one who is Almighty has all the requirements.

(Word sum: 184 Word position: 22)

Add up the words: 26 + 26 + 317 + 26 + 680 + 106 + 322 + 184 = 1687 (7 x 241).

Add up the word positions: 2 + 3 + 1 + 2 + 31 + 32 + 33 + 22 = 126 (7 x 3 x 3 x 2).

These features all connect Exodus 34:6b-7 to Revelation 1:8. God Almighty always is, always was, and always will be. This quality of His eternity is demonstrated in the Exodus verse. The first letter (Alpha) of each word indicates His existence before all things. The last letter (Omega) of each word, shows His existence even after all things end. At the same time, the sum of the even or odd positioned letters, and the sum of the letters that are not the first or last of each word, shows how He operates throughout time. Some of these features lead to deeper features, just as God is unfathomable. God has written His unchanging nature into this verse!

What are the chances of all these features matching the literal and spiritual meaning of Revelation 1:8? These features were derived by reason and not chance. The very least we can conclude from these amazing features is that the writer must either be super intelligent, or directed by God. The fact that 1500 years separates the writing of Exodus 34:6b-7 and Revelation 1:8 weighs heavily in favour of the latter. Change, add, or remove one word, or even one letter, and the entire numeric structure would collapse. The choice and order of words and letters is so sophisticated only God could have arranged everything so perfectly. Only God could have guided humans to write these two verses, and only He could preserve the record thousands of years for us to see today.

Are these the only numeric features in Exodus 34:6b-7? By no means! The features above are some of the easiest to find. There are others. There are even thousands of lesser features which are not derived from Revelation 1:8. (These random numeric features will not be covered here). All the features in the next sections are either derived with the principles laid out from Revelation 1:8, from the structure of the passage itself, from the numbers 7 and 13, or letters specifically associated with the Divine Name. These principles show the Bible contains God’s word.

Please read your Bible and get to know it thoroughly. The numbers should never be more than a small part of your Bible study. Once you understand them, you can put them aside. It is enough to know they exist and are there.
