Divine Announcement Of Jesus' Birth
If Jesus was God, surely there would be a New Testament passage for him similar to Exodus 34:6-7 where God showed all His goodness and described His character. At the very least it should have numeric features rivaling the proclamation. One might expect it in John 1:1, or in the first chapter of the Gospel of John. Or perhaps it would be the passage where the transfiguration occurred (Matthew 17:2). No such providence. The closest passages are Luke 1:31-36 detailing the birth of Jesus, and Hebrews 2:7 describing how God rewarded Jesus' obedience.
The Virgin Birth
Unfortunately, the numbers of Luke 1:31-36 do not match those in Exodus 34:6-7. There are more features in the parables (Matthew 13:52-58) than here. Surely if Jesus was God Almighty Himself, and wanted us to accept the Trinity there would be more evidence in the numbers. Why isn't there more?
This forces another question, Why Luke and not John?
Why emphasize Jesus' birth and not the Logos of John 1:1? Because God doesn't want us to get the wrong idea about Jesus. Numeric features in the first chapter of John would emphasize Logos, and strengthen the error of the Trinity. Emphasizing Jesus' birth reduces that possibility. And a careful reading of Luke's passage gives a picture totally different from the Trinity.
And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there will be no end.And Mary said to the angel,How shall this be, since I have no husband?And the angel said to her,The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God. And behold, your kinswoman Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son; and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren.(Luke 1:31-36 RSV)

In the Greek, two words have to be dropped from the beginning of verse 31, and ten words have to be dropped from the end of verse 36. If these words were included, there would be no numeric features. Removing these words do not change the essential meaning of the passage, and the sentences still retain complete thoughts.

Called The Son Of God.
The angel tells Mary she will have a child, and she is to call him Jesus. The angel does not say, His name is Jesus
, or This is Jesus.
As the Logos (John 1:1), it is clear the name Jesus
is only a human designation given for his time on earth. Whether Jesus
is his actual name is unknown, but most probably unlikely. The Logos before creation more likely has a name humans cannot conceive.
Continuing this thought the angel says, he will be great, and will be called, The Son of the Most High.
Again the angel does not say, is the Son of the Most High.
This is a title just like the name Jesus. To say Jesus in actuality is the Son of the Most High
requires an assumption.
God gives Jesus the throne of his ancestor David. It does not say God gives His throne to Jesus (see also Psalm 110:1). Having conquered, Jesus now sits on God’s throne (Revelation 3:21), but nowhere is it said that God’s throne is given to him.
Jesus will reign over the house of Jacob (Matthew 2:6). This means Israel and Judah, the united tribes. This kingdom will last forever.
It does not say Jesus will rule over the world. In Revelation 2:26 Jesus grants authority to those who overcome to rule the nations, but Jesus himself does not rule the nations.
English translations of Romans 15:12 say Jesus will rule over the world. But Romans 15:12 is a quote of Isaiah 11:10, and Isaiah says nothing about the root of Jesse ruling over the nations. The Greek word for rule
in Romans is αρχειν (G757 ar'-kho: A primary verb; to be first (in political rank or power): - reign (rule) over.) Its only other New Testament appearance is in Mark 10:42, and for ruling, Mark uses an entirely different word: κατακυριευουσιν (G2634 katakurieuo From G2596 and G2961; to lord against, that is, control, subjugate: - exercise dominion over (lordship), be lord over, overcome.). Being first is what Romans 15:12 is actually saying, and this would agree with Isaiah.
Mary responds by asking how this would be possible since she is a virgin. The angel says a holy spirit will be upon her, and the power of the Most High will overshadow her. Note, the angel does not say the holy spirit.
The Greek has no definite article for these words. Nor does the angel say the Most High overshadows her, only the power. Because of this, the child is holy and will be called son of God.
Again in the Greek there is no definite article. The angel does not say the son of God.
In closing, the angel reassures Mary all this is possible by mentioning her relative Elizabeth. Elizabeth has conceived in her old age.
This passage makes it clear Jesus is not God. Nor should one assume the spirit in this passage refers to the Holy Spirit. In other words, there is no support in these verses for the theory of the Trinity. The numbers confirm the meaning of the text.

Conclusion
The basic numeric features of first and last or beginning and end in Luke 1:31-36 confirm Jesus' birth was special and unique. Jesus is and will be great. He is to be called the Son of the Most High. He is given the throne of David. He will rule over the children of Jacob, and there will be no end to his kingdom. It was a virgin birth. It was a holy birth, and the power of God was behind it.
But the number of features are less than in Matthew 13:52-58. Quite a number have no symmetrical pair. This can only mean one should not go too far beyond the actual text of this passage. Assumptions like Mary the mother of God
, Jesus is God
, Jesus will rule the world
, or Jesus, the Holy Spirit and God are a trinity
should be avoided. They are assumptions.
God Raised Jesus To Glory
In the section above, the numbers support the virgin birth. In the book of Hebrews, another verse describes Jesus after the resurrection.
Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands: (Hebrews 2:7 KJV)
The language of Hebrews 2:7 makes it clear Jesus is not God. He was higher than the angels from the beginning, but he was willing to become a man, a being lower than angels. In the end, God raised him and crowned him. (If the Trinity were true, Jesus returning to his original state would not need to be crowned with glory and honor. It would simply just return to him.)
This verse says God set Jesus over all creation. Earth is just a tiny fraction of creation. That makes the rider on the white horse in Revelation 19 more likely Jesus' representative on earth rather than Jesus himself. (It is pure human egocentrism to think this planet is the centre of the universe.)

Conclusion
Jesus ranks first in all creation. He was with God before creation, and he was God’s main instrument in creation. At the same time, he was the plan for the salvation of creation. In all aspects, Jesus' primacy is paramount. These numeric features confirm his glorious status.
