What To Say Before Persecutors
For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there will be earthquakes in various places, there will be famines; this is but the beginning of the birth-pangs. But take heed to yourselves; for they will deliver you up to councils; and you will be beaten in synagogues; and you will stand before governors and kings for my sake, to bear testimony before them. And the gospel must first be preached to all nations. And when they bring you to trial and deliver you up, do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say; but say whatever is given you in that hour, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. (Mark 13:8-11)1
Spiritual truth is rejected by unbelievers (Matthew 7:6), not only because they don't understand it, but because they are already convinced they are right and that God or religion is irrelevant (Psalm 14:1). Preparation to present spiritual truth would be useless.
In the end times, any believer who has resisted and seen through the Antichrist system's hypocrisy and lies will have plenty to say (spiritual and nonspiritual). Preparation will most likely be unnecessary.
Those who say they believe
and yet find they have little to say other than the basics of their faith most likely have already missed the mark.

Start with the eleventh Greek word of verse 8, and remove the last thirteen words from verse 11.
Wars have been with mankind for thousands of years. As a result, the numeric section begins with the earthquakes. This is more unique than looking at nations, especially in the end times.
The true believer is always supposed to be under the guidance of the Holy Spirit (Luke 11:13; John 14:26, 20:22; Acts 2:4). Thus the numeric section ends before the Holy Spirit is mentioned. It is not really essential to the meaning of the text.
