Part 6: A Message To Muslims
The meaning of Islam is submission to God. A Muslim is one who submits to God. But what does it mean to submit to God? Can you submit to someone you know little or nothing about?
The Qur'an actually says very little about God in comparison with the Bible. The little it tells of what God did in the past is repeated over and over. It says even less of what God is like. Holiness, love, justice and righteousness occupy only a few verses. The Bible is filled with verses of God telling us how much He loves these qualities.
The Qur'an admonishes its readers to do good, obey and believe, but has very little in the way of law or what exactly to do. These are taught from the Sunnah and the Haddith, records of Muhammad's life, precedents and decisions. But these are not the Qur'an, and they did not come from God's angel. They were written centuries later by Islamic scholars. Compare this with the laws God gave Israel on Mt Sinai.
If a Muslim submits to God by what is taught in the Sunnah and the Haddith, and these are not part of the Qur'an, and not from the angel, is this really submitting to God?
Is the Qur'an's Allah the same as the lord God in the Bible?
In the Bible, God says,
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. (Revelation 1:8 KJV)
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. (Revelation 22:13 KJV)
Contrast this to what the Qur'an says of Allah.
Surah 53:25 But it is to Allah that the End and the Beginning (of all things) belong.
Surah 92:13 And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning.
Surah 57:3 He is the First and the Last, the Evident and the Hidden: and He has full knowledge of all things.
Allah, is claimed to be the first and the last, but there is no phrase where Allah himself actually says, I am the First and the Last.
Allah is said to have the beginning and the end. This is not the same as Revelation saying God is the beginning and the end. And finally, Allah is never mentioned as the one who is, was and is to come.
Only the God of the Bible, the lord God, has ever claimed a threefold "Alpha and Omega," "First and Last," and "Beginning and End" statement. Only the God of the Bible says He knows the past, present and future (Isaiah 41:4, 26-29; 42:8-9; 43:10-13; 44:6-8; 45:18, 21-23; 46:9-10).
Thus the numeric principles derived from Revelation 1:8 are much more appropriate to the Bible than to the Qur'an. Even if similar numeric features can be found in the Qur'an, this would be no different than finding them in other texts like A Study In Scarlet, by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It would be purely coincidental.
Quoting the prophet Isaiah, Jesus said,
This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.
RSV Matthew 15:8-9
Jesus was speaking to the Jews of his day, but his warning, like Isaiah's prophecy apply equally to us. God wants us to listen to Him, not to men, not to scholars
, and not to what we think He wants.
The Qur'an actually testifies against Muhammad and Muslims.
Surah 6:107 If it had been Allah's plan, they would not have taken false gods: but We made thee not one to watch over their doings, nor art thou set over them to dispose of their affairs.
Surah 17:54 It is your Lord that knoweth you best: If He please, He granteth you mercy, or if He please, punishment: We have not sent thee to be a disposer of their affairs for them.
Surah 27:92 And to rehearse the Qur'an: and if any accept guidance, they do it for the good of their own souls, and if any stray, say: "I am only a Warner".
Surah 35:23 Thou art no other than a warner.
Surah 39:41 Verily We have revealed the Book to thee in Truth, for (instructing) Mankind. He, then, that receives guidance benefits his own soul: but he that strays injures his own soul. Nor art thou set over them to dispose of their affairs.
Surah 42:6 And those who take as protectors others besides Him, Allah doth watch over them; and thou art not the disposer of their affairs.
Four times the Qur'an says Muhammad is not to be a disposer of affairs. But the moment he picked up the sword, Muhammad became a disposer of affairs.
Any Muslim who appeals to the life of Muhammad makes him a disposer of affairs
and violates their own scripture. This is the plain text of the Qur'an. There is no such contradiction in the Bible.
I bow down toward thy holy temple and give thanks to thy name for thy steadfast love and thy faithfulness; for thou hast exalted above everything thy name and thy word.

Then the LORD said to me,You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to perform it.

The numbers Numerics Gematria from Exodus 34:6-7 prove beyond doubt that God continually preserves and looks after His word in the Bible. And now we have further proof of this preservation in a Chinese version of the same verse. Muslims have been taught that the Bible was corrupted. They have been taught the language of the Qur'an is special and sacred. They are wrong. Nothing in the Qur'an even comes close to the miraculous mathematical features found in the Bible (Hebrew, Greek and Chinese). (Click for more on Why Not Arabic?)
The Bible is superior to the Qur'an in every way. God talks about Himself in the Bible, describing who He is and what He wants. We learn of holiness, justice, righteousness and love from the lessons recorded in the Bible. We learn from the laws God (not an angel) gave us.
Jesus also said,
For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
RSV Matthew 5:18-19
Jesus was not talking about corrupted scriptures, and he was not referring to laws made up by men. To truly submit to God is to submit to God's laws.
Thou meetest him that joyfully works righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways. Behold, thou wast angry, and we sinned; in our sins we have been a long time, and shall we be saved?
RSV Isaiah 64:5
Without the Bible, we would have no idea what God meant by righteousness. Without the Bible it would be impossible to remember God, His ways, and what He has accomplished. Without the Bible, there is no way of submitting to God. There is no way of being a true Muslim without following the Bible. Following Muhammad, the Sunnah and Haddiths is transgressing the Qur'an and not submitting to God.
The following is meant to encourage Muslims to read the Bible and accept its truths. Even when they are translated into different languages, there are numeric features. This proves the ideas in the Bible are universal and extraordinary. Nothing like this exists in the Qur'an.
In another section of this site, reasons were given why Arabic was not used for numbers like Hebrew and Greek. Farsi is based on the Arabic alphabet, but it is different and has extra letters. Why use Farsi if Arabic is not used? 1) Because Persia is mentioned in Daniel's visions and forms a major part of history (Daniel 2:32; 8:3; 10:13 & 20). 2) Like Russia and China, Iran has withstood Western pressure to seek her own way. Since Western propaganda is so overwhelmingly negative, it seems only fair to present something positive. 3) God wants all people to know His word. What better way than to have numeric features in a Farsi Bible?
Note: I do not know the Farsi language. I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the translations below. I do know that even with English Bibles, translation is affected by theology. If some of the Farsi translations below contain explanations or extraneous text that is not part of direct translation, I would not be able to recognize them. These translations of the Bible to Farsi were obtained from Wordproject a registered domain of International Biblical Association, a non-profit organization registered in Macau, China.

Revelation 1:8 was the key to discovering numeric features in the Hebrew and Greek texts of the Bible. As such, this is the first verse to check in Farsi. (For the conversion of Farsi to numbers, see Note 1 below.)

The value of the Hebrew letters of God’s name can be used to count through the Farsi words of Revelation 1:8 thirteen times.

There is only one word that is a prime number because there is only one God. Coincidentally its position is also a prime number.
This leaves 19 words whose totals are not prime numbers.

The sum of their positions is once again a prime number: 191. The symmetry of 191 points to the one God who is Alpha and Omega. The total of these 19 words: 83755 = 5 x 7 x 2393. SF: 2405 = 5 x 13 x 37. (Note: the sum of 2405's factors comes to 55, another symmetrical number whose factors are 5 and 11. The eleven is another symmetrical number.)
Alpha and Omega leads to looking at the first and last, or beginning and end. What about the middle? Revelation 1:8 also states God is the one who "is, was, and is to come." This leads to looking at the middle. One can take the middle 18 words, the middle 16 words, the middle 14 words, and so on. Only the middle 8 words are divisible by seven. And they are divisible by seven twice.

Total: 33663 = 3 x 7 x 7 x 229.
Why the middle 8 words? Perhaps because the sum of these positions, from 7 to 14 add up to 84 (2 x 2 x 3 x 7. SF: 14 = 2 x 7).
Turning to the letters of the Farsi version of Revelation 1:8 there are other features.

There is perfect balance with odd positioned and even positioned letters both producing totals divisible by 13.
The digits of the factors in these two cases appear almost the same, tempting one to add them together: 2 + 2 + 2 + 3 + 13 + 131 + 2 + 2 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 13 + 31 = 210 (2 x 3 x 5 x 7).
Alpha and Omega are complementary opposites. The letters can be categorized in four ways.
A) Odd positioned B) Even positioned C) Odd valued AC BC D) Even valued AD BD
Categories AC and BD are similar in that position and value are both odd, or both even (as opposed to mixed). Letters in these two categories total 43512 (2 x 2 x 2 x 3 x 7 x 7 x 37). Once again there are two factors of 7.
Previously, the words were grouped in pairs, and every other pair further grouped. The letters have a similar feature. Since letters are not words, there is a slight difference. Rather than taking every other pair, which would be all the odd positioned, or all the even positioned pairs, take only pairs that are odd valued.

Only one letter is divisible by 7. It has the value 700 (2 x 2 x 5 x 5 x 7. SF: 21 = 3 x 7), and it is in the 35th position (5 x 7).
Similar to the words, the middle 58 letters have a feature.
Total: 80795 = 5 x 11 x 13 x 113. The middle 58 letters run from the third to sixtieth letters. The sum of these positions is 1827 (3 x 3 x 7 x 29. SF: 42 = 2 x 3 x 7).
In terms of numeric features, the Farsi version of Revelation 1:8 holds up quite well in comparison with the original Greek. Essentially, God is telling Muslims He is still speaking to them, and the words He is speaking are found in the Bible.
I am not certain if anyone else has demonstrated anything like this. Clearly Almighty God has arranged all things beforehand. That this discovery was found August 13, 2022 means God is speaking to Muslims today from the Bible.
One verse might be a fluke. The next verse to consider is right at the beginning of the Bible: Genesis 1:1.

The total of the place values (line c): 387 = 32 x 43. This is not divisible by seven or thirteen. The feature is hidden in the factors. The sum of the factors: 49 = 72. This goes another level: 14 = 2 x 7.
The numeric total (line b): 23751 = 32 x 7 x 13 x 29. Not only is it divisible by seven, but also by 13. Thirteen is related to the numeric value of the Hebrew name for God (10-5-6-5; יהוה), which has a total of 26 (2 x 13). The numbers show God’s hand in creation. The sum of the factors of 23751 is 55. This is not divisible by seven or thirteen, but its factors are 5 and 11. The eleven is a visual numeric representation of the one God who is beginning and end.
The Persian alphabet heavily favours even valued letters since there are more letters with a value greater than 9. Since grouping letters as odd or even valued relies on the last digit, for Persian, one category would be much larger than the other. However, if one wanted to balance things out, letters could be grouped by the first digit of their value.
Letters with an odd valued first digit:

Following the description in Revelation 1:8, I am the Alpha and the Omega
, the first letter of each word is listed below.

The total of the letter positions: 104 = 23 x 13. Once again the number associated with God appears.
The total of the letters: 3650 (2 x 52 x 73). This is not divisible by 7 or 13, but 365 is very familiar as the establishment of the solar year.
Again following Revelation 1:8 the last letter of each word is listed below.

This time the total of the positions yields nothing: 123 = 3 x 41.
On the other hand, the total of the letters, 5044 = 22 x 13 x 97, once again shows God in creation.
The reason why the first and last letters do not consistently produce the same result is because Genesis 1:1 is about creation, not about God like Exodus 34:6-7. Creation is vastly inferior to God, and thus the numbers should not be expected to equal those in The Proclamation.
The positions of the first and last letters total 227. This is a prime number showing the uniqueness of the creation of the earth. At first glance this appears quite mundane, until one realizes 227 is the 49th prime number.
While the first letter of each word has no feature on its own, aside from its coincidental relation to the solar year, first and last together according to Revelation 1:8 total 8694 (2 x 33 x 7 x 23). This shows the completed work of creation from beginning to end.
Looking just at the words there are other features.
The passage divides evenly, like the beginning and end mentioned in Revelation 1:8, into first half and last half.
First half:

Total: 7140 = 2 x 2 x 3 x 5 x 7 x 17.
Last half:
3000 8040 31 5540
Total: 16611 = 3 x 7 x 7 x 113. SF: 130 = 2 x 5 x 13.
There is only one odd valued word because there is only one God. Conveniently it is the only prime number, and is the seventh word with a value of 31. In Persian, 31 might not mean anything, but the Hebrew letters for the word God (אל ;30-1) also have a value of 31.
This means the remaining words, seven in all, are not prime numbers.
Turning to the letters, there are more features.
Since Revelation 1:8 states that God is, was and is to come
(present, past, future), His creation can also be divided into three. Group the 27 letters into groups of three. Separate the groups according to Alpha and Omega. In this case the complementary opposites are groups that have an odd total, or an even total.
Odd valued groups of 3:

Total: 10675 = 5 x 5 x 7 x 61. SF: 78 = 2 x 3 x 13.

The difference between these two categories: 13076 − 10675 = 2401. (7 x 7 x 7 x 7!) This shows the beautiful balance in God’s creation.
Once again applying Revelation 1:8, find the Nth letter from the beginning and the Nth letter from the end where the two added together would be divisible by seven. There is only one pair as there is only one God. In this case they are also divisible by thirteen.
Nth letter from the beginning: 12 Value of Nth letter: 1000 Nth letter from the end: 16 Value of the Nth end letter: 1
Total of the two letters: 1001 = 7 x 11 x 13. A thousand and one is also an excellent visual representation of a number showing the one God who is Alpha and Omega. The zeroes in the centre represent the finite period of our creation, which in contrast with eternity is nothing.
Sum of positions as counted from the beginning: 28 = 2 x 2 x 7.
Exactly seven letters are odd valued.

Whether a letter value is a prime number or not a prime number establishes a different sort of complementary opposite like Alpha and Omega. Only one letter is a prime number. It is the fourth letter. This means the remaining 26 letters (2 x 13) are not prime numbers.

The interesting part is that the sum of the positions of these twenty-six letters again shows the one God: 374 = 2 x 11 x 17.
And the sum of the numbers themselves do the same: 23749 = 11 x 17 x 127.
Since Alpha and Omega refer to the beginning and end, this turns the attention to what is in the middle just as is, was, is to come

Total: 18123 = 3 x 7 x 863. Why are the fifteen middle letters special? These are the letters from 7 to 21. Thus the positions are added from 7 to 21: 210 = 2 x 3 x 5 x 7.
The middle 7 letters have their own feature.

We could try the middle letter, the middle 3 letters, middle 5 and so on, but only the middle 7 and middle 15 have these features. Why are these two the only two that work
? Perhaps because 7 + 15 = 22 (2 x 11). The eleven shows the same one God again. And the sum of the factors is 13, pointing back to God’s name in Hebrew.
Similar numeric features, and others, are also found in the Chinese numeric study on this same verse. This shows the universal nature of the ideas in the Bible. There is nothing in the Qur'an that even comes close to this.
The Name of God is not Allah
At first, the Israelites had no name for God (Exodus 3:13). It was only after Moses asked that God gave a name. This name is found in Exodus 3:14-15. Below is the pertinent section in three languages, Hebrew, English and Farsi. The Hebrew name for God is highlighted.

The name God gave in Hebrew was יהוה (Yhwh), and this is translated as "The LORD" in English with the definite article and capitals. This is different from the words אֱלֹהִ֜ים and אֱלֹהֵ֣י translated as God
in English. As can be seen in the English translation, the word God
appears six times. (And this matches the original Hebrew text.) In the Farsi translation of this verse, the word خدا (God) appears six times as well. The word الله (Allah) does not appear at all, though it did appear in the first verse of this chapter. Thus the translators did not use Allah as a replacement, or translation for יהוה. (Not knowing Farsi, I do not know which word/letters were chosen to stand in for the Hebrew name.)

All these numeric features in the Farsi version of Genesis 21:12 show the truth of the text. Isaac was Abraham's heir chosen by God. This ties in with God’s name being remembered through Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. But the very interesting part is that Genesis 21:12 in the original Hebrew was not divisible by seven or thirteen! Why? Because the Israelites knew their own history. They did not require proof. The Farsi version has numeric features because Muslims do not know the truth in the Bible or accept it.
