King Of Kings & Lord Of Lords (Part 1)
(This is the first of a three part study. Each succeeding part expands further covering more verses.)
His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems; and he has a name inscribed which no one knows but himself. He is clad in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God. And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, followed him on white horses. (Rev 19:12-14)1
Revelation 19:12-14 shows us the final ruler of the world. For close to seven thousand years, humanity has chosen its own rulers, and people have seized authority on their own to rule (Judges 9:1-6; 1 Samuel 8:5). That age is now over. Now God sends His own candidate.
(The English word order is different from the Greek. Dropping the very last Greek word results in dropping the English word pure
even though it is not at the end of the sentence.)
This is the child who was taken into heaven (Revelation 12:1-6). He now returns with the armies of heaven behind him.
Many say this is Jesus. But there are very strong reasons against this.
Reason 1
In Psalm 110:1, God says to Jesus, Sit at my right hand, till I make your enemies your footstool.
It is not Jesus who needs to go out and conquer
his enemies. Jesus performed one of the greatest tasks God could ever set when he gave his life to open a way for sinners to be reconciled to God (John 3:16; Hebrews 1:9, 10:5-7). Jesus is sitting next to God. He need do nothing. God has already said He will do it. (To say the rider on the white horse is Jesus means he has to leave the throne and come back to take over the world.)
Reason 2
In verse 5 of the same psalm, God says, The Lord is at your right hand; he will shatter kings on the day of his wrath.
The psalm began with God speaking to Jesus. Since David gives no evidence God has turned to speak to him or anyone else, verse 5 can only be a continuation of God speaking to Jesus. The Lord
at Jesus' right hand is a third person in David's prophetic psalm. This individual will destroy kings.
The Lord is at your right hand; he will shatter kings on the day of his wrath. He will execute judgment among the nations, filling them with corpses; he will shatter chiefs over the wide earth. He will drink from the brook by the way; therefore he will lift up his head. (Psalm 110:5-7)
Reason 3
Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come (Revelation 12:10).
If this child is Jesus, then it takes over 2,000 years for God’s kingdom to even start moving!
Three things have arrived: The power, kingdom, and authority of his Christ. Why not definitively say Jesus has come back with this power? It is possible these three are brought by Jesus' representative.
If this child is Jesus, then the time period from Revelation 12:1-6 to 19:12 is over two thousand years. This would contradict Revelation 12:12 where Satan knows his time is short.
Reason 5
John never identifies this individual as Jesus. And the statement that he has a name no one knows is meant to indicate he is a different individual (Revelation 19:12). It's not just his unknown name. It's the fact that he himself is unknown.
Reason 6
Jesus said quite plainly the word he spoke is what will judge someone (John 12:48). In Revelation 19:13, this individual is known as The Word of God.
Reason 7
This mysterious individual has been overlooked by Bible readers for two thousand years. He is unknown because for almost two thousand years most Christians have confused Jesus and God with the idea of the Trinity. The numeric features marking this passage tell us there is something very important God and Jesus want us to understand.
What He Does
In Revelation 19:11, this individual is called Faithful
and True.
He stands in contrast to a disobedient world that lies about itself. His judgment and war against the world is all rooted in righteousness.
In its most simple form, righteousness is right behaviour. The believer is reminded of Jesus' beatitudes, the parables, and the book of Proverbs.
There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots. And the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD. And his delight shall be in the fear of the LORD. He shall not judge by what his eyes see, or decide by what his ears hear; but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall slay the wicked. (Isaiah 11:1-4)
Note this individual's origin. It is not from David, but a side branch from Jesse from the roots. The Hebrew word is שרש (H8328 sheresh From H8327; a root (literally or figuratively): - bottom, deep, heel, root.). Almost all of the time the word is translated as root, but in Job 36:30 it applies even to the "roots of the sea" or the bottom of the sea. If one went to the very bottom of the roots of Jesse, this could mean Judah, Jacob, Isaac, Abraham or even Adam. This is another reason why he is not Jesus.
(Is not the common understanding that this is Jesus strange? With myriads of angels willing to serve, God has to keep relying only on Jesus? Throw in the concept of the Trinity and it gets even stranger. Jesus being God means God has to do everything Himself! Where is the majesty and power of Almighty God who has to do everything Himself?)
Seven spirits abide in this person: the Spirit of the LORD, of wisdom, of understanding, of counsel, of might, of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD. And he delights
in the fear of the LORD.
(The fear of the LORD is to hate evil. See Proverbs 8:13.)
He will not be interested in human law, historical precedents, scientific or legal arguments. These are all fallen concepts for hiding the true character of a person. He will destroy the arrogant and proud (John 7:24; 1 Peter 5:5).
From his mouth issues a sharp sword with which to smite the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron; he will tread the wine press of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has a name inscribed, King of kings and Lord of lords. (Revelation 19:15-16)
From his mouth-
Here we see the word Jesus spoke going forth and judging nations. Just as God, before the beginning, spoke the word of creation into being with a complete plan from start to finish (Genesis 1:1; John 1:1), so Jesus speaks God’s will, and this individual executes it.
smite
The Greek word actually ranges from a gentle knock to a fatal blow.2 God’s representative is not unreasonable. (See next point.)
rule
The Greek word is shepherd.
Heaven's rulership is not like human rulership. Gentle as it could have been, at this point in human history it is firm and unyielding iron. Whether humanity wants God’s ruler is no longer relevant. The environmental and ecological catastrophes mentioned previously in Revelation leave little leniency for human behaviour in the future. (Scientists leave no doubt as to who is responsible for the state of the world in naming this geological age as the Anthropocene.) Accept the shepherd's tending, or accept the full force of the implacable laws of nature (Hebrews 10:28).
There were seven bowls of wrath over the entire world (Revelation 15:7). But when one really thinks about it, it becomes clear the ruling class and wealthy can sometimes avoid these disasters. They have early warning and their wealth allows them to leave disaster zones. They have the strongest shelters. If they suffer loss, they have resources with which to rebuild. But God’s justice will catch them. Here is a final wrath of God
executed by the rider on the white horse. The phrase King of kings and Lord of lords,
along with Revelation 19:17-18 indicate this wrath is directed specifically against human rulers and their minions.
Revelation 12:1-6 & Revelation 19:12-14
Is there some other evidence linking these two passages together? There is in the numbers Numerics Gematria themselves.
From the end of the numeric passage of Revelation 12 (verse 6), to the very first verse of the section in Revelation 19 (verse 12), there are 133 verses. 133 = 7 x 19. SF: 26 = 2 x 13. And from the beginning of the section of Revelation 12:1 to the end of the section in Revelation 19:14, there are 140 verses. 140 = 2 x 2 x 5 x 7. We see the end and the beginning, and also the beginning and the end, an excellent illustration of Revelation 1:8. These two passages are perfectly placed in relation to each other.
The number of letters from both passages: 595 + 231 = 826 (2 x 7 x 59). SF: 68 = 2 x 2 x 17. SF: 21 = 3 x 7. SF: 10 = 2 x 5. SF: 7.
When the numeric totals are put together, a spectacular feature with five factors of seven appears: 37128 + 13293 = 50421 (3 x 7 x 7 x 7 x 7 x 7). SF: 38 = 2 x 19. SF: 21 = 3 x 7. SF: 10 = 2 x 5. SF: 7.
This indicates the child born to the woman in Revelation 12 is the same person as the one leading heaven's armies.
Other numeric features support this linkage.
Revelation chapter 12 is the complete vision of the woman and the dragon and the birth of the King of Kings. Revelation 19:11-16 is the complete section on the King of Kings' return.
The Chapters
There are eight chapters in this section; seven if chapter 19 is not included because it is incomplete. Of these chapters, only chapter 13 has a total that is a prime number. This emphasizes God and kingship.
Three of the eight chapters have totals that are even numbers: 16, 17, and 19. The sum of these chapter numbers: 52 = 22 x 13.
Chapter 12 is the first chapter of this passage. Chapter 19 is the last chapter of the passage. The totals of chapter 12 and the incomplete chapter 19 together: 133753 + 121840 = 255593 (13 x 19661).
The chapters point to God and kingship. What about the verses, words and letters?
The Verses
There are exactly 143 (11 x 13) verses from Revelation 12:1 to 19:16.
The 143 verse totals are given below.

The total of all these verses: 1114939 = 7 x 19 x 83 x 101. SF: 210 = 2 x 3 x 5 x 7.
The numeric values of God's name in Hebrew can count through these verse totals six times. The last time would overshoot and wrap around to the beginning of the verses.

If the 143 verse totals were arranged as a 13 x 11 rectangle, the perimeter would be 339755 (5 x 13 x 5227), and the first and last rows would add to 199017 (37 x 7 x 13).
The Words
Turning to the words. There are 3540 words from the beginning of Revelation 12:1 to the end of 19:16. There are no features with this number. But there is an odd coincidence with the woman having the moon under her feet (12:1). The lunar year is 354 days. The number of words is ten times the number of days in a lunar year.

In general the words are consistently without numeric features. The features are buried in the sums of the factors. This makes it clear the King of Kings is not Jesus, and he definitely is not God. But there is also another reason. Chapters 13 to 18 have little to do with the mother of the King of Kings and her son. Thus it would be unreasonable to expect the numeric features to hold throughout.
First and last word of entire passage: 20 939 = 959 = 7 x 137. SF: 144 = 24 x 32. SF: 14 = 2 x 7.
First and last word of first and last verses of the passage: 20 624 20 939 = 1603 (7 x 229).

But there are other feature similar to the chapters and verses.

The letter 1 appeared the most at 1997 times. The letter 500 appeared the least at 12 times. Most and least appearances together: 2009 = 7 x 7 x 41.
Twelve letters appear an even number of times.

The Text Itself
The woman gives birth in Revelation 12:5. ετεκεν she gives birth
is the second word of verse 5. It is the 97th word from the beginning of Revelation 12:1.
The 96 words (just before giving birth): 31863 = 3 x 13 x 19 x 43. SF: 78 = 2 x 3 x 13. The 13s presage the birth of the King of Kings.
There are 452 letters before this word. (452 = 22 x 113. SF: 117 = 32 x 13.)
If the six letters of ετεκεν were included, there would be 458 letters (458 = 2 x 229. SF: 231 = 3 x 7 x 11. SF: 21 = 3 x 7.).
The 63rd verse of the passage (Rev 15:7), and the 89th verse of the passage (Rev 17:4) are the only two verses from Revelation 12:1 to 19:16 to have the exact same total 12371. Revelation 16:19 is the 83rd verse with a total of 9306. Note what these verses are saying.
And one of the four living creatures gave the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God who lives for ever and ever; (Revelation 15:7)
The great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell, and God remembered great Babylon, to make her drain the cup of the fury of his wrath. (Revelation 16:19)
The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and bedecked with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her fornication; (Revelation 17:4)
God’s wrath is directed against Babylon (Revelation 16:19). Is it a coincidence the verse about God’s wrath, and the verse describing Babylon should have the exact same total? But what about Revelation 16:19? The total of these three verses: 12371 + 9306 + 12371 = 34048 = 28 x 7 x 19. SF: 42 = 2 x 3 x 7. God’s judgment on Babylon will be thorough and complete.
There are 20 verses from Revelation 15:7 and 16:19. There are 6 verses Revelation 16:19 to 17:4. Twenty-six shows it is God’s judgment.
From the judgment in Revelation 16:19 to 19:11, the first verse of the King of Kings are exactly 56 verses (23 x 7. SF: 13). The judgment on the city that arrogantly assumes it rules the world is contrasted with the true ruler who is chosen by God.
The vision of the woman and the dragon in chapter 12 is not divisible by 7. If added to Revelation 19:11-16, which is divisible by 7, it would ruin the total. However, everything from chapter 12 up to 19:10 is divisible by 7. Perhaps this is to show the two sections are supposed to be joined even though many of the events between the two sections have nothing to do with the woman and the King of Kings.
All these features support the idea that the child born in chapter 12 returns as the King of Kings. The rest of the study examines the verses about the King of Kings' return.
The King Of Kings

In the Greek, 6 words have to be dropped from the beginning of verse 12, along with the very last word of verse 14.4

Revelation 12:1-6 and 19:11-16 seem to go together very well. This strengthens the idea that the child born in 12:1-6 is God’s ruler who comes back in chapter 19.
Conclusion
There are more features here than in many of the other verses previously presented. This underlines the importance of this passage on end time events. Understanding the importance of the King of Kings, who he is, who he represents, and what he does are necessary for the believer to be on God’s side at the end (Revelation 16:15).
