The 144,000 From Israel (Part B)
This is the second part of the numeric study joining Ezekiel chapter 20 with the 144,000 mentioned in the book of Revelation. A slightly smaller portion of Ezekiel (20:34-39) fits in with the full segment of the 144,000 in Revelation 7:3-8.
34 I will bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you are scattered, with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out; 35 and I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there I will enter into judgment with you face to face. 36 As I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will enter into judgment with you, says the Lord GOD. 37 I will make you pass under the rod, and I will let you go in by number. 38 I will purge out the rebels from among you, and those who transgress against me; I will bring them out of the land where they sojourn, but they shall not enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the LORD. 39 "As for you, O house of Israel, thus says the Lord GOD Go serve every one of you his idols, now and hereafter, if you will not listen to me; but my holy name you shall no more profane with your gifts and your idols. (Ezekiel 20:34-39)1
Although verse 33 is no longer in the text, where being King over Israel is mentioned, the rod, might, wrath and judgment make it clear God still is and will be King over Israel. He will purge the rebels from Israel. He will distinguish His people from the rest of Israel. Those rejected will not be allowed to enter the land, and will no longer be known as Israel.

There are 91 (7 x 13) words in this passage, 385 (5 x 7 x 11) letters, and a numeric total of 27903.
(The sum of the factors for 385 is 23. The chain of factors for 27903 also leads to 23. 27903 = 3 x 71 x 131. SF: 205 = 5 x 41. SF: 46 = 2 x 23. This is a prophecy of people, and 23 is the number for people as it represents the number of chromosome pairs in the average person.)
3 saying, "Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God upon their foreheads." 4 And I heard the number of the sealed, a hundred and forty-four thousand sealed, out of every tribe of the sons of Israel, 5 twelve thousand sealed out of the tribe of Judah, twelve thousand of the tribe of Reuben, twelve thousand of the tribe of Gad, 6 twelve thousand of the tribe of Asher, twelve thousand of the tribe of Naphtali, twelve thousand of the tribe of Manasseh, 7 twelve thousand of the tribe of Simeon, twelve thousand of the tribe of Levi, twelve thousand of the tribe of Issachar, 8 twelve thousand of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve thousand of the tribe of Joseph, twelve thousand sealed out of the tribe of Benjamin. (Revelation 7:3-8)
The previous numeric study only had verses 3 and 4, with no breakdown of how many would be in each tribe. It would leave open the possibility that the tribe of Dan would be included.
This time twelve tribes are mentioned by name, and Dan is missing. No matter how one looks at it, 12,000 from each tribe can only mean 12 tribes to reach a total of 144,000. This would seem to contradict verse 4, where every
tribe is supposed to be there. John wrote this as the vision progressed. (Revelation 1:19) He did not mistakenly omit one tribe. This was how the vision was presented. In my opinion, the vision was presented this way to clearly show the imperfection of this first group of 144,000.
There are other possible explanations. Perhaps the angel's vision only dealt with round numbers of 12,000 and the number from the tribe of Dan was less than this number. Perhaps Dan was not mentioned in this group because they were in the second group of 144,000. Being in this second group, tribal affiliation would no longer be important.

Conclusion
The many numeric features with the number 13 show the sovereignty of God in this prophecy and its fulfillment. All the totals that are divisible by 7 point to the completeness of prophecy and fulfillment. Two separate numeric studies confirm the joining of Ezekiel 20 with Revelation 7. What God said would happen, will happen. Israel will be purged again and again, because throughout history many have joined Israel (Esther 8:17), and even those descended from Israel might actually not belong. (Romans 9:6-7) When one looks at Israel today, as this is being written, there is no love visible in the Middle East. And God is love. (1 John 4:8) There is every reason for God to expel the rebels. As God left a remnant for Himself (1 Kings 19:18), so He will keep 144,000.
