Revelation: A Book For Our Time
Introduction
Although this numeric study was the last discovered, it is placed here because of its uniqueness, vast importance, and relation to The Proclamation (Exodus 34:6-7). These features are so similar to the ones in Exodus 34:6-7 as to be in a class all their own. Only God could have inspired them. Bringing Moses and John together, the first author of the Bible and the last author of the Bible, we also see the beginning of God’s covenant starting with Israel and the fulfillment of that covenant with all humanity.
Before the advent of computers, it would have been almost impossible to find these numeric features. At the very least, it would have taken years of dedicated effort, and possibly a lifetime. Since computers were only invented recently, this makes Revelation a book for our time. And since the book deals with the last ages of humanity, it may very well be the most important book for us.
The nations raged, but thy wrath came, and the time for the dead to be judged, for rewarding thy servants, the prophets and saints, and those who fear thy name, both small and great, and for destroying the destroyers of the earth. (Revelation 11:18; emphasis added)1
–destroying the destroyers of the earth— Only today does mankind have the power to destroy the earth several times over. There are nuclear weapons, biological and chemical weapons. Even simple accidents, and simple decisions can have catastrophic consequences because of technology. Had people used bromine instead of fluorine for refrigeration, the ozone layer would have been destroyed before anyone even knew there was an ozone layer, and the only life left on this planet would be in the oceans.
Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name. (Revelation 13:16-18)
This prophecy has come true in our time. Only one nation has the power to enforce economic sanctions and prevent individuals and entire regions of the world from buying or selling. It is the United States of America. Truly, the book of Revelation is the prophecy for our time.
The numeric features found in this book assure us that what Jesus' angel said is true:
And he said to me,These words are trustworthy and true. And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servants what must soon take place.(Revelation 22:6)
Not only should you trust the prophecy in Revelation because it comes from Jesus, but because the numbers themselves are witnesses in two different languages Greek, and Chinese. The study on this page is from the Greek New Testament. (For the one in Chinese, see The Vision In Revelation.)
The Passage Within Revelation
There is more than one version of the GNT. Scholars use many sources to decide whether or not a variant of the Greek text should be used, or listed as an alternative, or even noted at all. Scholars do not always agree, or sometimes may even change their minds if they are convinced another rendering is more accurate. As a result there is more than one version. The GNT used in these studies is from the computer program Bibleworks 3.0, produced by Hermeneutika, Computer-Aided Bible Research, P.O. Box 2200, Big Fork, MT, 59911. Their source material for the GNT is listed below.
The Greek New Testament (GNT), edited by Kurt Aland, Matthew Black, Carlo M. Martini, Bruce M. Metzger, and Allen Wikgren in cooperation with the Institute for New Testament Textual Research, Munster and Wesphalia, Fourth Edition (exactly the same as the Nestle-Aland 27th Edition of the Greek New Testament, Copyright 1966, 1968, 1975, 1993-1994 by the United Bible Societies (UBS)). The computer form for the UBS Second Edition 1968 was prepared by the TLG Project. The computer form for the UBS Third Edition 1975 was derived from the MRT (machine readable text) created by Timothy and Barbara Friberg at the University of Minnesota, Academic Computing Services and Systems.
This numeric study on Revelation uses Bibleworks' data for the GNT as is with only one change. In Revelation 9:16, Bibleworks has the Greek word δισμυριαδες (two-myriads), but The Kingdom Interlinear Translation of the Greek Scriptures and eSword have it as two words δις μυριαδες (two myriads). With this simple change, a large numeric section of text divisible by 7 was discovered where a previous attempt failed. (N.B. The original manuscripts had no spaces between words.)
This section is composed entirely of complete verses. It ranges from Revelation 1:4 to 21:24. There are no incomplete thoughts or sentences. The passage opens with John writing to the seven churches in Asia. (It omits the introductory verses of Revelation 1:1-3.)
John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne, (Revelation 1:4)
The passage ends with the nations walking in God’s light.
By its light shall the nations walk; and the kings of the earth shall bring their glory into it, (Revelation 21:24)
(The ending omits 21:25-22:21 — the holy city's gates never being shut, no night in the city, a repeat of the kings bringing in their glory, no evil entering, the river of life, the tree of life, a reiteration of no evil, seeing God’s face, having His name, no need for light since it comes from God, reigning forever, assurance of the prophecy, the promise of coming soon, blessing on those who keep the prophecy, John worshipping the angel, the angel's admonition, the prophecy to be open to all, the evil still be evil, the righteous be righteous, the promise of reward and recompense, declaration of Alpha Omega, blessed are those who are rigtheous and can enter the city, exclusion of evildoers, reiteration that the vision is from Jesus' angel, the Spirit and Bride's invitation to the thirsty, not adding/subtracting from the book, assurance of these things, grace to all, amen closing.)
Although the ending does not include the rest of chapter 21 and the closing chapter of Revelation, the conclusion of the story can still be seen in Revelation 21:24.
This numeric section is the largest passage found in the entire Bible. Since it would be impractical to have numeric features reiterating pages and pages of numbers, only the end results will be presented. Where a feature consists of less data, it will be presented in full as much as possible.

1Just like The Proclamation, the total of the passage from Revelation is divisible by seven three times: 3047898 = 2 x 3 x 73 x 1481.
1.1The The Proclamation was only two verses. This passage spans twenty-one chapters: 21 = 3 x 7. The first and last chapters are incomplete, but this dovetails with human history. Revelation does not cover the beginning of mankind, and although it covers a thousand years into the future, the ending is left open.
1.2.1Four chapters are divisible by 7: 3 + 5 + 8 + 19 = 35 (5 x 7). Perhaps there are four chapters divisible by seven because there are four living creatures around God’s throne.
1.2.2Four other chapters have their number of verses divisible by 7.
Chapter number: 5 9 16 19 Number of verses: 14 21 21 21
Chapter numbers added: 49 = 72. SF: 14 = 2 x 7.
1.3Borrowing from Revelation 1:8's idea of "Alpha and Omega", and "Beginning and End", the first two and last two chapters: 1813245 = 3 x 5 x 72 x 2467.
1.4Borrowing Revelation 1:8's "Alpha and Omega", "Beginning and End", and "First and Last" along with "is, was and is to come", the first, last and middle three chapters: 1393496 = 23 x 13 x 13399.
1.5Every 7th chapter after the first:
1 8 15 134672 106834 70043
Total: 311549 = 7 x 44507.
1.6God’s name יהוה is also in this passage.
Hebrew letter values: 10 5 6 5 Chapter total: 82977 106071 132658 106071 Verses in chapter: 11 14 17 14
The chapter totals selected by the name: 427777 = 7 x 23 x 2657.
The number of verses in these chapters: 56 = 23 x 7. SF: 13.
1.6The divine name counts 7 times through the number of verses per chapter.
a) Letter from God's name. b) Count c) Adjusted count. d) Number of verses found. a) 10 5 6 5 10 5 6 5 10 5 6 5 10 5 6 5 10 5 6 5 10 5 b) 10 15 21 26 15 20 26 10 20 25 10 15 25 9 15 20 30 14 20 25 14 19 c) 10 15 21 5 15 20 5 10 20 4 10 15 4 9 15 20 9 14 20 4 14 19 d) 11 8 24 14 8 15 14 11 15 11 11 8 11 21 8 15 21 20 15 11 20 21 a) 6 5 10 5 6 5 b) 25 9 19 24 9 14 c) 4 9 19 3 9 14 d) 11 21 21 22 21 20
Total: 429 = 3 x 11 x 13.
1.6.2God’s name counts through the number of words per chapter:
a) Letter from God's name. b) Count c) Adjusted count. d) Number of verses found. a) 10 5 6 5 b) 10 15 21 26 c) 10 15 21 5 d) 292 216 555 337
Total: 1400 = 23 x 52 x 7.
1.7.1In terms of words per chapter, every Nth chapter:
Chapter number: 2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16 18 20 Number of words: 621 293 416 319 292 437 546 470 620 406
Total number of words: 4420 = 22 x 5 x 13 x 17. SF: 39 = 3 x 13.
Chapter number: 4 8 12 16 20 Number of words: 293 319 437 470 406
Total number of words: 1925 = 52 x 7 x 11. SF: 28 = 2 x 2 x 7.
1.7.2.1In terms of words per chapter, odd positioned segments of 3 chapters:
5453 = 7 x 19 x 41.
1.7.2.2In terms of words per chapter, even positioned segments of 3 chapters: 3801 = 3 x 7 x 181.
1.8The number of words in the 4th and 5th chapters are prime numbers.
4 5 293 337
Total of the words: 630 = 2 x 32 x 5 x 7.
This means the number of words in the remaining chapters (which are not prime numbers): 8624 = 24 x 72 x 11.
1.9Chapters with the number of words divisible by 7:
1 9 14 20 406 497 546 406
Total of the number of words: 1855 = 5 x 7 x 53. SF: 65 = 5 x 13.
Chapters with the number of words divisible by 13:
6 11 14 17 19 416 494 546 442 520
Total of the number of words: 2418 = 2 x 3 x 13 x 31. SF: 49 = 7 x 7. SF: 14 = 2 x 7.
The actual feature is in the sum of the factors. Chapters with the number of words divisible by 7 have the sum of the factors divisible by 13. On the other hand, chapters with the number of words divisible by 13 have the sum of the factors divisible by 7.
1.10The middle chapter's number of words: 494 = 2 x 13 x 19. (There is more to this chapter. See below.)
1.10.1Seven chapters had an odd number of letters:
4 9 11 13 15 18 21 1411 2393 2401 2091 1003 2925 2595
Sum of the chapter numbers: 91 = 7 x 13.
Total of the number of letters: 14819 = 7 x 29 x 73.
1.10.2Fourteen chapters had an even number of letters:
1 2 3 5 6 7 8 10 12 14 16 17 19 20 1788 2812 2356 1578 1938 1952 1536 1312 2008 2572 2240 2056 2528 1846
Total of the chapter numbers: 140 = 22 x 5 x 7.
Total of the number of letters: 28522 = 2 x 13 x 1097. The breakdown between chapters with an odd or even number of letters is perfect.
1.10.3Two chapters' number of letters were divisible by 7:
11 16 2401 2240
Total of the number of letters: 4641 = 3 x 7 x 13 x 17 (an extra 13).
1.11.1The one chapter in the middle has a unique number of letters: 2401 = 74. SF: 28 = 22 x 7.
1.11.2The middle 7 chapters' number of letters: 1536 2393 1312 2401 2008 2091 2572 = 14313 = 3 x 13 x 367.
1.11.3The middle 5 chapters' number of letters: 2393 1312 2401 2008 2091 = 10205 = 5 x 13 x 157. SF: 175 = 52 x 7.
1.11.4And of course 1 + 7 + 5 = 13.
1.12.1.1In the next few features, Revelation 1:8's principle of first and last are applied to the chapters. First word in the first verse of each chapter: 2331 = 32 x 7 x 37.
Last word in the last verse of each chapter: 8914 nf.
1.12.1.2First and last words from the first and last verses of the chapter:
11245 = 5 x 13 x 173.
1.12.2.1First letter of each word in the first verse of each chapter:
27405 = 33 x 5 x 7 x 29.
Last letter of each word in the last verse of each chapter: 26363 nf.
1.12.2.2First and last letters: 53768 = 23 x 11 x 13 x 47. SF: 77 = 7 x 11.
1.12.3Number of words in the first and last verses of each chapter:
987 = 3 x 7 x 47.
Verse Features
2The Revelation passage has a feature The Proclamation does not because it is so long. The number of verses is divisible by seven: 378 = 2 x 33 x 7.
2.1The divine name's Hebrew letters יהוה point out four verses.
Hebrew letter value: 10 5 6 5 Verse total: 8630 5516 10249 5516
Total: 29911 = 7 x 4273.
2.2.1178 verses had totals that were odd. Their positions: 32921 = 7 x 4703.
2.2.2200 verses had totals that were even. Their positions:
38710 = 2 x 5 x 72 x 79.
2.3.1.1Odd positioned segments of 9 verses: 1477868 = 22 x 7 x 47 x 1123.
2.3.1.2Even positioned segments of 9 verses: 1570030 = 2 x 5 x 7 x 11 x 2039.
2.3.2.1Odd positioned segments of 42 verses: 1655094 = 2 x 3 x 7 x 157 x 251. SF: 420 = 22 x 3 x 5 x 7.
2.3.2.2Even positioned segments of 42 verses:
1392804 = 22 x 32 x 7 x 5527. SF: 5544 = 23 x 32 x 7 x 11.
2.4Find paired groups symmetrically positioned from either end of the passage that together and individually are divisible by 13. There are exactly 104 of them (23 x 13).
Example: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 ... 372 373 374 375 376 377 378 378 377 376 375 374 373 372 ... 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 |-A-| |-A-| |---B---| |---B---| a) Group's start position. b) Group's end position. c) Total of both groups. a) 1 1 2 3 3 4 6 6 8 b) 15 100 121 54 173 157 10 88 82 c) 241449 1571206 1880190 805493 2740699 2475031 75985 1310491 1191931 a) 8 9 9 9 10 11 12 13 14 b) 183 105 162 177 167 88 112 66 56 c) 2830113 1529411 2494882 2710617 2552745 1234506 1579773 855998 678613 a) 14 16 17 19 22 22 22 23 26 b) 67 100 123 136 41 79 99 93 59 c) 849641 1329757 1669772 1839448 324844 931216 1227590 1106287 542984 a) 27 28 28 28 31 32 32 34 35 b) 84 34 158 180 148 47 152 184 158 c) 923663 117494 2123563 2469701 1879501 252122 1940458 2446600 2006069 a) 35 38 39 39 40 41 42 42 44 b) 180 83 156 172 164 115 79 99 101 c) 2352207 720512 1898442 2161575 2032004 1168596 606372 902746 899691 a) 44 45 46 46 47 47 48 49 49 b) 143 137 116 145 113 169 152 103 161 c) 1576341 1449409 1101633 1587820 1043965 2000518 1688336 872716 1847274 a) 50 50 51 51 52 52 53 53 55 b) 90 134 85 165 87 98 77 120 173 c) 655135 1346319 569634 1882413 572221 731887 415792 1061190 1935206 a) 57 59 65 69 70 72 73 74 75 b) 67 146 92 80 155 189 159 144 91 c) 171028 1392742 435370 201578 1394289 1932892 1425398 1128140 263510 a) 77 78 79 79 80 83 86 88 90 b) 178 120 125 128 99 183 165 98 130 c) 1651039 645398 717119 755755 296374 1638182 1312779 159666 645385 a) 91 96 98 102 104 106 106 107 108 b) 134 174 133 143 161 162 177 111 118 c) 691184 1302873 568165 676650 974558 965471 1181206 68887 160329 a) 114 117 126 128 128 128 136 136 142 148 b) 169 145 128 135 141 182 141 182 182 153 c) 956553 486187 38636 129350 237471 933101 108121 803751 695630 111709 a) 157 159 163 169 b) 172 180 177 170 c) 263133 346138 215735 25051
The sum of the start and end positions: 19250 = 2 x 53 x 7 x 11.
SF: 35 = 5 x 7
2.5.1Every 7th verse: 445198 = 2 x 13 x 17123.
2.5.2Every 91st verse: 27989 = 13 x 2153.
2.6Only Revelation 5:9 and 8:2 are divisible by 7 and 13. These are the 88th and 129th verses of the passage. Coincidentally, 88 + 129 = 217 (7 x 31).
The Words
3The Proclamation's number of letters was divisible by seven. Here in Revelation, it is the number of words: 9254 = 2 x 7 x 661.
3.1Once again Revelation has an extra feature. All the odd positioned words: 1510572 = 22 x 3 x 73 x 367. There are three factors of seven, just like the total!
3.2Since the total (feature 3.1) and all the odd positioned words (feature 3.2) had 3 factors of seven, this means the even positioned words would too:
1537326 = 2 x 33 x 73 x 83.
3.3Following Revelation 1:8, and The Proclamation the first and last letters of each word: 1162399 = 7 x 211 x 787.
3.3.1The pattern continues with the first letter of each word:
476595 = 32 x 5 x 7 x 17 x 89.
3.3.2This means the last letter of each word also fits:
685804 = 22 x 72 x 3499.
3.4.11588 of the words were prime numbers. Their positions in the passage total 7373765 = 5 x 72 x 30097.
3.4.27666 words were not prime numbers. Their positions in the passage total 35449120 = 25 x 5 x 7 x 31 x 1021.
3.4.3608 words were divisible by 13. Their total together is also divisible by 7: 210301 = 7 x 13 x 2311. SF: 2331 = 32 x 7 x 37.
3.5The divine name יהוה counts 7 times through the words. (This covers only a fraction of the passage.)

Total of the words: 458829 = 32 x 7 x 7283.
3.7.2All words with letter 1 as the last letter:
Position total of the words: 3314810 = 2 x 5 x 211 x 1571.
Total of the words: 182665 = 5 x 7 x 17 x 307. SF: 336 = 24 x 3 x 7.
3.8.1The lowest valued word plus the highest valued word: 1 + 1735 = 1736
(23 x 7 x 31).
3.8.2Quite a number of words have the same value, even words that are spelt differently. However, if we looked only at unique values, there are 896 unique values: 896 = 27 x 7 = 21 = 3 x 7.
3.8.3237 word values appeared only once:

Total of these words: 181825 = 52 x 7 x 1039.
3.8.4Twenty-five word values appeared a multiple of 13 times:
69 109 111 151 190 191 199 211 249 269 285 290 360 368 390 402 410 451 461 481 490 677 693 741 824
Total: 9072 = 24 x 34 x 7.
3.9Start with the first word and take every seventh word after: 428757 = 3 x 7 x 17 x 1201.
3.10Use The Proclamation's word totals to count through the Revelation passage's words.
3.10.1The first method is to use The Proclamation's word totals until the count reaches the end of the passage of Revelation, but does not overshoot it. The Proclamation goes into the Revelation passage almost 1.5 times (9254 ÷ 6174 = 1.499). Total of words found in the Revelation passage: 16422 = 2 x 3 x 7 x 17 x 23. SF: 52 = 22 x 13.
3.10.2The second method counts until The Proclamation is completed two times. This overshoots the Revelation passage by quite a bit. Total of the words found: 23351 = 19 x 1229. SF: 1248 = 25 x 3 x 13. SF: 26 = 2 x 13.
3.11Use The Proclamation's letter values to count through the Revelation passage's letters. In this case, The Proclamation counts through passage's letters 8 times.
3.11.1The first method undershoots the length of the Revelation passage: 55173 = 3 x 53 x 347. SF: 403 = 13 x 31.
3.11.2The second method counts until The Proclamation is completed eight times and overshoots: 65702 = 2 x 7 x 13 x 19 x 19.
Like complementary opposites, words and letters work together. For the words, the second method found nothing until one looked at the factors. And for the letters, the first method did not work, until one looked at the factors again. In both cases the factor was 13.
The Letters
4.1.1The orderly arrangement continues even in the letters. Every odd positioned letter: 1528541 = 7 x 218363.
4.1.2And of course this means every even positioned letter works as well: 1519357 = 7 x 23 x 9437.
4.1.3The first letter of the passage (Revelation 1:4) has the value 9. The last letter of the passage in Revelation 21:24 has the value 40. First and last: 49 (7 x 7).

4.2.1Number of even valued letters in this passage: 27807 = 3 x 13 x 23 x 31. SF: 70 = 2 x 5 x 7. SF: 14 = 2 x 7.
4.2.2The positions of these letters: 602524720 = 24 x 5 x 7 x 953 x 1129.
4.3.1.1Number of letters divisible by seven: 3073 = 7 x 439.
4.3.1.2The positions (within each word these letters appeared) are added up: 9464 = 23 x 7 x 13 x 13
4.3.2.1The letter 7 appeared 1963 (13 x 151) times.
4.3.2.2The total of all its positions in the passage: 44810409 = 3 x 7 x 149 x 14321.
4.4Revelation 1:8's idea of first and last
lead to the idea of complementary opposites like the greatest and the least. In this case, it is the number of times a letter appeared in the passage.
4.4.1The letter 500 appeared the least number of times (61). The letter 1 appeared the most number of times (5091). Apart there is no feature, but together there is one. The number of times these two letters appeared:
5152 = 25 x 7 x 23.
4.4.2Total of their positions within the words where they appeared:
17003 = 72 x 347.
4.4.3Total of their positions within the passage:
112035820 = 22 x 5 x 13 x 430907.
4.5Rather than just take the one letter that appeared the most or least times, all twenty-four Greek letters could be classified into two groups by their appearances.
4.5.1The twelve letters that appeared the least:
Letter: 500 6 50 2 300 400 4 8 3 30 70 20 Appearances: 61 75 151 306 314 353 642 658 785 1080 1110 1210
Total of the letters: 1393 = 7 x 199. (Total of the appearances yields no feature.)
4.5.2The twelve letters that appeared the most:
Letter: 80 600 7 10 200 90 100 5 40 9 60 1 Appearances: 1295 1495 1963 2056 2566 3234 3270 3592 3655 4103 4276 5091
In this case, the letter total has no feature, but the number of appearances does: 36596 = 22 x 7 x 1307.
4.5.3The positions in the passage of the letters that appeared the least (line D in 4.1.2): 145860120 = 23 x 32 x 5 x 7 x 57881.
Conclusion
Now we understand why the angel warned against adding or subtracting from the book (Revelation 22:18-19). The similarity of this passage from Revelation with The Proclamation is astounding. But The Proclamation was God describing Himself, and this passage is about the last ages of humanity. What is the relationship? The Proclamation was the beginning of God’s covenant with Israel. This passage from Revelation is the fulfillment of that covenant with the rest of the human race. There is beginning and end, first and last.
Is all this just the odds and coincidence? It cannot be. There is design. Revelation 1:8 tells us how to find numeric features. When the most obvious instructions from Revelation 1:8 all yield features this is not coincidence or random chance. It was planned.
The Proclamation & Revelation showed how a verse outside
the book of Exodus was intricately entwined with the proclamation. The Structural Miracle I, II & III found features derived from inside
Exodus 34:6-7. The Structural Miracle IV found features around
Exodus 34:6-7. God’s name was applied through
The Proclamation. In the previous part, everything was related to the Bible itself. And finally on this page, the book of Revelation had many similar features. Each part stands alone with its own reasons for the numeric features found in Exodus 34:6-7, and yet all parts stand together in one very orderly, deliberate grand design: outside, inside, around, and throughout.
When the same thing happens over and over, it is no longer coincidence. It is a law. Revelation 1:8 is the description of God’s signature.
Can there be any doubt the lord is the author of these mathematical wonders? Can there be any question He is God? Only a multidimensional being operating on different levels could have written so many features into this passage. Exodus 34:6-7 and Revelation 1:8 are proof God exists, and that the Bible is His message to us.
You can believe the Bible record, and you can trust that the book of Revelation is true. What Jesus warned will happen is already happening. (For more on the book of Revelation, see: A Study On Revelation.)
This concludes the most important part of the numbers. If you are content with what you have seen so far, then by all means lay aside these numbers and return to studying the Bible. That is most important. If for some reason you are curious about more...
